Welcome to The College Tracker. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the The College Tracker website, apps, and services (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

1. Who can use The College Tracker

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent or guardian's permission. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your account secure.

2. Your account

You are responsible for all activity that happens under your account. Please keep your password confidential and notify us right away if you suspect unauthorized access.

3. Subscriptions and payments

The College Tracker offers a free trial, monthly subscriptions (Standard), and a one-time Value Pass. Recurring subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. You can cancel any time from your account settings; you'll keep access through the end of the current period. Payments are processed by our payment provider, and refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis.

4. Acceptable use

Don't do anything unlawful, abusive, or harmful with the Service. Don't attempt to reverse engineer, scrape at scale, or resell The College Tracker without our permission. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

5. Your content

You retain ownership of essays, notes, and other content you create in College Compass. You grant us a limited license to store and process that content solely to operate and improve the Service for you.

6. Third-party services

The Service integrates with third parties such as Google Docs and Gmail. Your use of those services is subject to their own terms.

7. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. The College Tracker is a planning tool; we do not guarantee any admissions outcome, scholarship award, or financial-aid decision.

7a. Not an official source for admissions information

The College Tracker is an organizational and progress-tracking tool only. Application requirements, essay prompts, supplemental materials, testing policies, fees, deadlines, financial-aid dates, and scholarship criteria change frequently and vary by school, program, and applicant. The tasks, dates, checklists, and descriptions shown in the Service are provided for convenience and may be incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate.

You are solely responsible for confirming every admissions requirement, deadline, and criterion directly with each university's official admissions office and website before submitting any application. Do not rely on The College Tracker as your source of truth for what a school requires or when it is due. Always double-check the specifics with the university itself.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, The College Tracker will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost profits or data.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we'll notify you in the app or by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
